Fishing in Iceland
Welcome to the Haukadalsa river, a place you will want to return to again and again. Haukadalsa is an exclusive fly-fishing only salmon river located about 150 km northwest of Reykjavík, less than 2 hours by car. Haukadalsa is famous for its easy accessibility and high per rod average catch. It is also known as one of Iceland´s most attractive salmon rivers.
Haukadalsá rarely gets hit with extremely low water like her neighboring rivers due to the location of lake Haukadalsvatn at the top which ensures that water levels remain steady even in periods of draught. Despite being a mere 8 km, the Haukadalsá has formed 40 great fly fishing pools on its way down the beautiful valley. Plenty of water for 5 rods! Optimal river conditions and breathtaking scenery sets us apart from the rest. At Haukadalsa we strive to combine professional service with warm hospitality. The newly refurbished lodge will be your second home in Iceland and our Swedish chef Robert Mohnsen will serve delicious home cooked meals using local produce. Guides will be available to ensure you get the most out of your fishing.
Our ambition is to provide the ultimate fly-fishing adventure at one of the top rivers in Iceland at competitive rates.
Come experience Icelandic fishing at its´ best at Haukadalsa.
